TO: 2011 CERTIFIED REFEREES From: Ed Martins, Director of the Referee Initiative Program The Super Liga (RIYSL,llc) RE: 2012 REFEREE Re-CERTIFICATION Hello everyone, if you have re-certified as a referee for 2012, you can ignore this notice. If you will not be re-certifying in 2012, I would like to know your reason for not re-certifying. This would help us understand better any issues that we may need to address. You can email me at referee@thesuperliga.com . Adel Cabral, the State Youth Referee Administrator for Rhode Island has informed me that the number of referees who have re-certifed so far for 2012 is very low. He has sent me information about the re-certification process that you need to be aware of. Please read through the information below carefully...... Thanks ____________________________________________________________________________________________ From: Adel Cabral RI-SYRA How to recertify as a referee? Notice: Rhode Island referee committee (RISRC) will add referee recertification courses during February ONLY. Any referee not recertified by the end of February CANNOT officiate this spring. The RISRC will add a few recertification classes sometime during the next couple of days. So, please check the website risrc.net and/ or the Super Liga website www.tehsuperliga.com for dates and locations. Here is what you need to do to officiate this spring: 1. Go to rireferees.gameofficials.net site and log in. If you do not know your username and password, click on forgot username and password so that this information can be emailed to you. 2. Once you have entered the site, click on COURSES. Then click on REFEREE COURSES, then either RECERTIFICATION – GRADE 8 or RECERTIFICATION - GRADE 9. 3. Determine the location you would like to recert in and register for the course. You MUST take the online referee test PRIOR to taking the course. This test is difficult and you can use the referee handbook to assist you. A copy of the referee handbook can be found on the risrc.net site on the home page right side. It’s called “Advice to Referees”. Very helpful. 4. Here is how to access the test. Click on the green four digit course number and then LAUNCH SESSION TRACKER. After that the test icon appears and you can start the test. There is no time limit and you can take the test during multiple days. Please email me at adelcabral2@gmail.com or text 480-5421 if you need any assistance or have questions. There will be NO recertification class at the Crowne Plaza during the SRI soccer expo. There are NO recertification classes in March! If you want to officiate this spring, then get recertified in February. | |
